Grant on the Jill Bennet Show: Raising doubts over the home-flipping tax, Protecting vulnerable road users, & Viewing next week’s solar eclipse!

“Most people give a wide berth when they pass cyclist anyways, sometimes the road design doesn’t allow for a car to creep too far to the left unfortunately if the shoulder is too narrow or there’s no shoulder”

“I think it’s a good idea. I think enforcement might be extremely difficult simply because some people might not have a clue what 1 meter is”

“This is one more law in the book, that I think is going to have very little impact”

“There’s a big responsibility on the part of the cyclist too, if they know they’re going to be going down a road thats going to put them at risk, they shouldn’t be going down that road”

“It amazes me how some pedestrians and cyclists think that they have this magical force field around them, if you want to take your life in your hands then go ahead, but you’re always going to lose with 5000 pounds of metal crashing into you”

“Cyclists are there own worst enemies”

“When you’re travelling at that speed, the weight of the bike and the weight of the driver is about 800 pounds, so you’re an 800 pound projectile travelling at 200 km/h. You hit another vehicle, it’s going to be catastrophic to that vehicle that you hit, most likely fatal to the driver in the other vehicle”
