The Mike Smyth Show: Distracted driving crackdown in March

Drivers throughout British Columbia are being advised to expect increased enforcement in March as police crack down on distracted driving and seatbelt violations.

The province-wide Distracted Driving and Occupant Restraint campaigns will have officers focusing on motorists who use electronic devices while driving or who do not properly secure themselves and their passengers.

“Unfortunately society is addicted to their cellphones… They hear it ‘ding’, they have to look at it… It doesn’t seem to matter how much the fine or the points are… It’s had zero impact.”
