Motorists will legally be able to drive 120 km/h on a section of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway south of Edmonton in the first phase of the Alberta government’s speed limit pilot project.
“A lot of the highway speed both rural and in urban settings… Those were set decades ago under the guise of saving fuel etc… But they haven’t changed with the times. Back in those days, cars were not as nimble on the corners… it took forever to stop… The cars have changed but a lot of the speed limits haven’t”
