Metro Vancouver drivers saw the largest increase in distracted drivers, up to 822 tickets in 2026 compared to 603 in 2025. That is a jump of nearly 31 per cent.
“This law has been on the book for 16 years. And if people are still stupid enough to touch their phone, to look at their phone, to pick it up, to talk on it, they deserve the tickets.”
