“I guess the idea is for children and for elderly… We’ve got a lot of crossing guards in the Lower Mainland at a lot of the schools – it’s that human element with the traffic. Any time you have something that’s automated or robotic there’s always the issue of what happens if it malfunctions?”

“One of my old sergeants from New West Police was talking about when he was out in elementary school, they were teaching kids back then how to properly cross crosswalks; pointing their arms out in the direction they were going to go. That makes sense.”
