Grant on the Jos Johal Show: July marks the deadliest month on B.C roads in 11 years

“Well it’s certainly an anomaly, it’s a blip on the radar if you will, for lack of a better term, before there’s a knee jerk reaction, what we have to do is wait to hear what those casual factors for all these collisions”

“There has been a marked decrease in traffic enforcement by the RCMP across the province of British Columbia in the last decade”

“The RCMP have to really look at themselves and say, “Listen, we’re losing Surrey for a reason”, they don’t want to lose the rest of province, they have to provide enforcement to this province and that starts with traffic enforcement, people are dying in traffic collisions”

“When there is a lack of enforcement, they get this almost like superman complex, well I can just drive however I want. The other part is everyone is in a hurry to go nowhere fast. Everyone is in a hurry rush, rush, rush, it’s all about them, they’re completely selfish drivers, they don’t care about anyone else on the road”

“You combine that with lack of enforcement, it’s a recipe for disaster”

“I will agree with Kyla, what she said, and the main problem is traffic enforcement in police departments is not sexy, is not fun, it’s not interesting”

“I don’t want to write a traffic ticket, I want to go out there and catch the next drug kingpin!”
